Book Clubs

The library has five book clubs - four fiction and one concentrating on War & Society. Due to COVID-19, meetings are held via zoom. Email to sign up or learn more.

We have seventeen PCs available for use at the Hattiesburg Library and three at the Petal Library.

There is also a three computer homework lab with pre-selected educational sites at the Hattiesburg Library.  This lab provides limited free printing of homework assignments.

Holds (Requests)

Placing an online hold for items is the best way to get the books you want; either by coming into the library or using our curbside pickup service. Holds let you know that we have the material ready for you to pick up.  This instruction sheet lets you know more about the process.

Interlibrary Loan

Use this service for books not in our collection.

Meeting Rooms

The meeting rooms are unavailable at this time.

Story Time

Help youngsters develop a love for reading by bringing them to the library for story time.  Our in person story time programs are suspended, but we have Facebook edition.  Check every Wednesday for new ones - and scroll through our Facebook page for past story times.

Summer Reading

Get ready to go wild at this year’s Summer Reading Program, Tails and Tales! We will be offering a return to in person story times, take and go crafts for kids and tweens/teens, and reading for prizes.

The joy and importance of reading doesn’t stop with “youth.” Join with our school age library users in committing to a summer of reading.  Be a part of the Adult Summer Reading Program.

Thursday Theater

Our Thursday Theater service is temporarily suspended.

Visually Impaired

The Library can assist with setting up free mail service from the Library of Congress.  Fill out and return this application (or have the library mail you a hard copy).
