Volunteer Policy

Those who are interested in volunteering at the library are welcome to submit a volunteer application. In addition to the application, adults must pay a $30.00 background check fee (cash only), and juveniles must submit two written references.

The placement of volunteers is entirely at the discretion of library staff. Volunteers are accepted if there is staff available to supervise and make assignments. Juvenile volunteers must work under the direct supervision of a librarian. The library does not participate in court-ordered community service programs. Volunteers who will be working solely as adult exhibit docents and/or front door greeters are exempt from the background check.
